Rules for using the website

Terms of Use

The conditions governing access to institutional information, links, services and future authenticated platforms.

Effective date

13 July 2026

This is a pre-launch draft and must receive appropriate institutional approval before deployment.

This page applies to the public website and connected institutional portals. It will be reviewed as digital services and record-processing responsibilities evolve.

Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using this public website, a visitor agrees to use it lawfully and consistently with these Terms of Use.

A visitor who does not agree with these terms should discontinue use of the website.

Purpose of the website

The website provides general institutional information, programme guidance, admission links, research information, public notices, contact details and links to selected services.

The website does not by itself create an offer of admission, guarantee a place, confirm a result or establish a contractual entitlement.

Accuracy and official confirmation

  • Reasonable efforts should be made to keep information accurate and current.
  • Admission requirements, programme availability, fees, deadlines and academic dates may change between sessions.
  • Applicants and students must confirm time-sensitive information through the live portal or responsible institutional office.
  • An error on the public website does not override an authorised academic, Registry, Council or regulatory record.

Admission and portal services

Links to existing admission and student services may lead to separate applications or systems.

Use of a portal may be subject to additional rules, identity verification, account-security requirements and notices presented within that service.

Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, records or administrative interfaces.
  • Do not upload malware, probe security controls or disrupt website availability.
  • Do not impersonate another applicant, student, staff member or institutional officer.
  • Do not submit false, misleading, abusive, unlawful or fraudulent information.
  • Do not scrape, reproduce or exploit institutional data in a manner that violates law or legitimate institutional interests.
  • Do not use the website to promote admission fraud, unofficial payments or guaranteed-placement claims.

Accounts and credentials

  • Users are responsible for protecting passwords, email accounts, verification codes and devices used to access future portals.
  • Credentials must not be shared with another person.
  • Suspected unauthorised access should be reported promptly through an official institutional channel.
  • The institution may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect records, users or systems.

Payments

Visitors should make payments only through an authorised institutional channel and should retain official receipts.

The Polytechnic is not responsible for money transferred to an unauthorised agent, personal bank account or fraudulent website falsely claiming institutional approval.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, institutional names, branding, website design, publications, photographs, documents and original content are protected by applicable rights.

Content may be viewed and used for lawful personal, educational or informational purposes. Commercial republication, alteration or misleading reuse may require prior written permission.

External links

Links to external websites are provided for convenience or access to related services.

The institution does not control every external website and does not automatically endorse all external content, availability, security or privacy practices.

Availability and changes

The website may be changed, updated, restricted or temporarily unavailable for security, maintenance, hosting or operational reasons.

No guarantee is made that every function will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation and responsibility

Visitors remain responsible for verifying important decisions with the appropriate institutional office.

Nothing in these terms excludes a responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Applicable rules

Use of the website remains subject to applicable Nigerian law, institutional regulations and any service-specific terms introduced for future portals.

These terms should be formally reviewed before the production website accepts applications, payments or authenticated academic transactions.
